Addressing the 11th annual convocation of the Karachi Institute of Power Engineering (KINPOE) at the Karachi Nuclear Power Complex on Tuesday, he said the PAEC is striving hard to enhance its role in power generation.
Dr Parvez said that more than 10 nuclear power plants established will generate up to 1,000 megawatts of electricity. “This is going to be a long battle but we will win this because all it requires is will, determination and commitment.”
Dr Parvez said the commission has been contributing to the socio-economic sector and it has 14 medical centres been set up in many cities. The agricultural centre and biotechnology institutes are also making their contributions to the agriculture sector of Pakistan, he added.
He congratulated the 36 graduates and hoped that they would be played their due role in the country’s development.
Dr Muhammad Aslam, rector of the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) said the institute has been very successful and around 10 scholars are completing their PhD every year and every PhD graduate, on average, is contributing fix to six publications to ISI-indexed journals.
