RAWALPINDI: Over 4,500 members of the Rawalpindi district bar association will elect a new body in annual elections being held today (Saturday). Polling will be held from 9am to 4pm. No candidate has won unopposed. Candidates for the president are GM Shah, Ayub Gujjar, Malik Jamee and Shaukat Rauf Siddiqi while Zameer Abbasi, Aniq Ziai, Abdul Rehman Shahid will compete for the seat of vice-president. Sardar Bilal Qayyum and Shams Tabrez Chaudhary will compete for the secretary-general. Police have made ample security arrangements for the elections. Lawyers will not appear in the court today due to polls.
