Lahore High Court on Thursday freed 13 workers after they were recovered from brick kiln owner’s custody and ordered recovery of seven more labourers. Justice Farrukh Gulzar Awan issued the writ on a petition seeking recovery of 20 labourers. The court bailiff submitted that Rafique Ahmed, the kiln owner, was holding workers in illegal custody and making them work against their will. He said seven other labourers named in the petition could not be recovered from his custody. The court freed 13 labourers and ordered the Manga Mandi SHO to present the others before the court.
