Hygiene issues: Several food outlets fined

The ICT food and health department inspected 373 food outlets

ISLAMABAD:


The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration has fined 51 food outlets in different areas of Islamabad



besides issuing notices to 38 outlets for violation of food laws.


The ICT food and health department inspected 373 food outlets during the last one week and fined 51 food outlets for failing to maintain hygiene and cleanliness.


The raiding teams also confiscated filthy and broken utensils, unhygienic cooked food and soft drinks. The raiding team also sealed Waqar Abbasi Naan Centre in Model Twon for failing to maintain hygiene.


The teams also took 18 samples of various food items from various outlets and sent them for laboratory check.


Meanwhile, ICT drug inspectors also inspected 15 drug stores and pharmacies and took samples of spurious medicines for lab analysis.
