Tehsil council: PPP-backed pressure group hands in resignations
Raja Shaukat told the media Mama Rehan was involved in corruption, especially in the tehsil municipal administration
D I KHAN:
The PTI tehsil government in Dera was challenged when a 12-member pressure group backed by eight council members of PPP handed in their resignations on Monday.
They submitted their resignations after their plea to remove Dera tehsil naib nazim Mama Rehan from the councillor’s position was not paid heed to. Raja Shaukat told the media Mama Rehan was involved in corruption, especially in the tehsil municipal administration and enjoyed the support of PTI minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
PPP leader in the tehsil council, Ahmad Kundi, said, “Gandapur should make his position clear – is he with Mama Rehan who is involved in corruption or with those who want development in DI Khan?”
Meanwhile, Mama Rehan held a press conference and said, “These are mere allegations – since we stopped corruption in DI Khan, members have turned against us and want to bring a bad name to the PTI tehsil government.”
