Book Reading: Mobile libraries planned for Lahore

DC said 19 motorcycle-borne libraries would also be introduced that would patrol the city

LAHORE: The government would set up mobile libraries in different areas of Lahore, Commissioner Abdullah Khan Sumbal said on Monday. He told a meeting that initially three libraries would be set up at Race Course Park, Dehli Gate and Gulshan-i-Iqbal Park. He said 19 motorcycle-borne libraries would also be introduced that would patrol the city. Sumbal said the Directorate General Punjab Public Libraries had been asked to prepare PC-1 for the project. Separately, the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) is working on a project to beautify bus shelters. DCO Muhammad Usman, Chief Minister Special Monitoring Unit’s Salman Sufi and PHA Director General Mian Shakeel Ahmad attended the meeting.
