PTI leaders in Tangi urge Imran Khan to take action

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Tangi chapter leaders have accused Chief Minister Pervez Khattak of allotting funds worth Rs100 million to his son-in-law. They have urged PTI Chairperson Imran Khan to take action against the decision.
These reservations were expressed by party leaders during a meeting held at the hujra of PTI leader Saeedul Haq in Tangi on Sunday. The moot was attended by Tangi tehsil naib nazim Mian Mushtaq and other PTI officials.
Participants voiced their concern over the allotment of funds by the chief minister to his son-in-law, former PPP senator Adnan Khan. PTI leaders said Khattak has released millions of rupees to Adnan.
They added the amount is being used to fund an unregistered socio-political organisation Tangi Ulasi Ittehad instead of being used on party workers or office-bearers.
Party leaders insisted the organisation was working against PTI’s interest and financing it will weaken the party’s position.
Addressing the participants, Mushtaq said the amount is not being used to further PTI’s interest and will damage the party’s image. “Imran should take action in this regard as it has weakened the party’s position in the region,” he said.
In November 2015, Khattak and his son-in-law were criticised for spending government funds on boosting the latter’s political career.
Tangi tehsil councillor Manzoor Bashir Khan claimed Khattak and Adnan had used Rs50 million from the provincial treasury to fund their political campaign.
The councillor suggested the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government could have used these funds for development projects such as basic health facilities in the tehsil hospital, education facilities or infrastructure development. He urged the Ehtesab Commission to investigate and take action in this regard.
