The official visit of Saudi Foreign Minister Adil bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir to Pakistan has been postponed, the Foreign Office said on Sunday.
The announcement of postponement came hours before the Saudi foreign minister was due to arrive in Islamabad on a two-day official visit.

Earlier, it was reported that the Saudi foreign minister will consult Pakistan's leadership over joining the anti-terrorism alliance. Saudi Arabia recently announced the formation of the 34-state Islamic military coalition to combat terrorism.
During his stay, the Saudi foreign minister was expected to meet Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Army chief General Raheel Sharif. He was also expected to hold talks with Pakistani leadership on different regional and international issues.
Pakistan may have joined the Saudi Arabia-led 34-nation coalition against terrorism, but it will not support any move that destabilises Syria or strains Islamabad’s relationship with Tehran, senior Foreign Office officials said last month.
Pakistan’s stakes in Saudi-sponsored coalition
A long list of Arab countries such as Egypt, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, together with Islamic countries Turkey, Malaysia, Pakistan and Gulf Arab and African states were mentioned in the Saudi-led coalition against terrorism.
Islamic State has pledged to overthrow the monarchies of the Gulf and have mounted a series of attacks on Shia Muslim mosques and security forces in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
