Gwadar woes: Protest held against water shortage

They said that people are forced to bring water from 80km away

QUETTA:
A protest demonstration was staged by Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) outside Quetta Press Club to decry the shortage of clean drinking water in Gwadar. Women and children also took part in the protest and chanted slogans against dearth of potable water in the port city. Senior vice president of the party Haji Abdul Wali Kakar, the, central spokesman Agha Hassan Baloch and other leaders addressed the protestors. People of Balochistan do not look for charity to the government, they want their due rights, the BNP-M leaders said. They said that people are forced to bring water from 80km away. The price of a water-tanker in Gwadar is as high as Rs12,000, they said.
