Load management: SNGPL to restore gas to industries in Lahore
CNG stations in Punjab to face gas supply closure till today.

Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Ltd (SNGPL) declared that it would restore gas supply to the industry in Lahore while CNG stations outside Lahore, Gujranwala and Multan would be allowed to consume gas till the next scheduled closure.
The SNGPL had issued a new gas load management plan according to which gas had been restored to industrial units in Lahore, along with Sheikhupura and Sahiwal districts. Gas supply in other parts of the province, however, would be continued according to the new scheduled.
On other hand CNG stations in Lahore, including Gujranwala and Multan districts would face gas supply closure till Tuesday (today).
According to Rehan Nawaz general manager retail sale SNGPL, the company had curtailed gas supply to industrial units and CNG stations two days earlier in order to maintain proper gas pressure for the domestic sector.
He said that SNGPL had restored gas supply to the industry which could fulfill the demands of industrial as well as domestic consumers.
He added that the industry was demanding gas supply since the day it was shut down but SNGPL had to ensure gas supply for domestic consumers as per the instructions from the federal government.
Maqsood Ahmad Butt chairman All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association (APTMA) said that he had many reservations about SNGPL’s decision to restore gas supply to the industrial units in Lahore.
He said that SNGPL could not ensure proper gas pressure to industrial units and in case of low pressure, the restoration of supply was useless.
He claimed that SNGPL and rulers of the province, along with the federal government, were following Machiavelli’s philosophy by suspending and restoring gas supply over and over again.
