Embezzlement Charges: NAB conducts inquiry into LUH's records
The LUH receives hundreds of millions of rupees every year for the medical budget
HYDERABAD:
In an inquiry about alleged embezzlement in the medicine budget, a National Accountability Bureau's team checked seven-year records of the expenditures at Liaquat University Hospital's Hyderabad and Jamshoro branches. The team especially investigated the alleged corruption during the stints of Dr Khalid Qureshi and Dr Kazim Raza Shah as the medical superintendents. The team quizzed the additional medical superintendents and heads of various sections of the hospital about the budget utilisation from 2007 to 2014. The LUH receives hundreds of millions of rupees every year for the medical budget.
