Targeted: Schoolteachers shot, injured in Charsadda

The police have cordoned off the area and initiated a search operation to hunt down the assailants

CHARSADDA:

At least three schoolteachers were injured when unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on them in Charsadda on Friday.

Imran Mohmand, an official of Charsadda City police station, told The Express Tribune Syed Zahir Shah, a teacher of Government Primary School Mirzagan, and two of his colleagues, Sahib Ali and Adil Khan, were returning home from school when two men riding a bike opened fire on them, injuring them. They were immediately rushed to the hospital. Later, they were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar. Adil was in a critical condition.

The police have cordoned off the area and initiated a search operation to hunt down the assailants.

“Initial findings suggest it is a case of personal enmity instead of a terrorist act,” he said. “We have not named anyone in the FIR so far.” Meanwhile, sources in the police department claimed they have arrested two suspects.
