Tragedy: Teacher dies in traffic accident
The tanker driver, who could not be identified immediately, was arrested by the police
MUZAFFARABAD:
A local teacher was killed in a traffic accident in Kotli Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, police said. According to the local police, Soban Hashmi was passing through a local market on his motorcycle in the Kotli city, some 190 kilometers from Muzaffarabad, when a speeding tanker rammed into his bike and killed him on the spot. The tanker driver, who could not be identified immediately, was arrested by the police and his vehicle was impounded. The police also registered an FIR against the tanker driver. Later, the deceased was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Nardli Goyi village of Kotli. A large number of locals and officials from the education department attended the funeral.
