Call for perseverance: Nation’s resolve helped eliminate terror, says air chief

Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman said on Sunday that the menace of terrorism was eliminated only when the nation showed unity, resolve and determination.

“The international community has acknowledged our gains against terrorism in such a short span of time,” he said while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Fazaia Medical College. He was referring to Operation Zarb-e-Azb launched in mid-July, last year.

He added that achievements were possible only thorough unity, perseverance and strong determination. He pointed out

The air chief said he had no doubt in his mind that Pakistan would emerge as the best ever nation. He called on students to be the agents of this change and urged them to strive hard to ensure this future comes to pass. "How humble and small your beginning in academic career, yet you can achieve your desire if you have determination," he said.


Aman told the students that medicine was not only a profession but a commitment to serve humanity. "Accept the challenge and move forward... you are the most important component of [national] unity." He congratulated the faculty and staff of the college for realising the dream of establishing a medical institute in such a short span of time.

The air chief said Pakistan Air Force has always valued education. A large number of educational institutions and organisations are being run and facilitated by PAF officials, he added.
