JAMRUD:

Christians in Jamrud were dismayed when the Christmas party due to be held at the Governor House was cancelled on Sunday.

The Christmas party scheduled to be held at Governor House on December 25 was first delayed till Sunday and then cancelled altogether. “To cancel a Christmas party without any valid reason is worthy of condemnation,” Fata minority community representative Wilson  Wazir said.

While talking to the media, other representatives, James Michael, Sardar Masih and Javed Masih said Christians were upset when the party was delayed but were very outraged when the event was eventually cancelled.

Former governor Barrister Masood Kausar was issued a directive according to which Christmas and Easter were to be celebrated at Governor House.

This directive has been ignored for the past two years. The Christian leaders requested Christmas tradition be maintained and parties and events such as these not be cancelled in future.
