Explosion: Accidental fire kills two in Rawalpindi
The fire was caused by gas leakage
RAWALPINDI:
A gas leakage resulted in a fire at a house in Rawalpindi on Friday, consequently taking the lives of two siblings, who are said to be physically challenged.
Rescue workers said that gas leakage at a house near Transformer Chowk in the Sadiqabad area of Rawalpindi resulted in a fire.
The fire burned down the house killing a brother and sister—Zafar Mehmood and Huma Mehmood—both of whom are said to be physically challenged.
According to details, Zafar passed away on the spot, while Huma succumbed to her injuries at the Benazir Bhutto Hospital. Both the bodies were shifted to the hospital.
Rescue services said that both the siblings were alone at home when the incident took place.
Earlier on Thursday, a mother along with her two daughters was killed while her husband and two sons fell unconscious in the gas leakage in the Gulraiz neighbourhood of Rawalpindi. The fainted persons were rushed to the hospital by Rescue 1122 teams.
Gas related incidents is a commonplace during winter. Authorities have advised the consumers to use gas appliances with care.
