Gilgit-Baltistan: Local body elections to be held in March
Elections aim to ensure transfer of power to grass-root level.

The Gilgit-Baltistan government has decided to hold local body elections in March 2011, aiming to ensure transfer of power to the grass-root level, provincial minister Engineer Ismail said on Sunday.
He said for the implementation of good governance the holding of local body election was necessary and the election schedule would be announced soon.
“Government of Gilgit-Baltistan is continuously working for the welfare of people and is always trying to provide the best available facilities to the citizens,” he added.
Engineer Ismail said the chief minister and his team was continuously working for the development of the area and God-willing people will see the results of their efforts.
