JCSC meeting: Military brass vows to respond to ‘entire spectrum of threat’

Reviews progress in Operation Zarb-e-Azb, lauds sacrifices of armed forces

Military chiefs on Tuesday vowed to respond to the ‘entire spectrum of threat’ in the most befitting manner as per a comprehensive security strategy. The resolution came following a meeting of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC) at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi.


Presided over by Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Rashad Mahmood, the meeting was attended by Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman and senior military officers from the three services.

CJCSC appreciates armed forces' efforts in Zarb-e-Azb

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the forum reviewed progress made in Operation Zarb-e-Azb and lauded the sacrifices and contributions made by the armed forces.


The CJCSC appreciated the armed forces for securing the confidence of people by successfully fighting terrorism. “All military leaders resolved to continue operations to eliminate terrorism and help the government fight extremism,” the ISPR said.

Issues pertaining to national security and emerging regional geo-strategic environment were also dilated upon. The participants expressed satisfaction over the standard of preparedness of the armed forces to take on internal and external challenges.

Chinese foreign minister appreciates progress on Zarb-e-Azb

The JCSC is a quarterly meeting of the senior military leadership to carry out assessment and evaluation of operational preparedness of all three services, especially in the context of articulation within the armed forces.
