Mazhar said that the selection of the channels was also in violation of an earlier tender document

LAHORE: Lahore High Court was moved on Monday against the sale of broadcast rights for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2016-18 to Pakistan Television (PTV) Sports and TEN Sports channels. Advocate Shahzada Mazhar, counsel for the petitioner, submitted that the PCB had not followed the terms and conditions issued by the ministry of sports in selling the broadcasting rights for the league. He said instead of selecting the broadcasters through a transparent bidding process the PCB had announced the selection of the channels through a press statement. Mazhar said that the selection of the channels was also in violation of an earlier tender document published by the PCB in leading newspapers of the country. He requested the court to direct the PCB to initiate the selection process afresh and sell the rights following a transparent bid.

PCB is not a government owned organization and it's their right to select a broadcaster according to their wishes. So, judiciary please stop pulling legs and concentrate on more serious issues, let this to be handled by professionals.
