HYDERABAD:
A four-day symposium about camel breeding and the processing of camel milk on a commercial basis started at the Sindh Agriculture University on Monday. Experts pointed out that some of the local camel breeds, such as the Mahari, Balochi, Thari, Kohistani, Karai and others, are facing extinction. They also highlighted the importance of camel milk for health purposes. They suggested that camel farms should be established to serve both the purposes of preserving various camel breeds and for marketing the animals’ milk.
