The Maritime Security Agency (MSA) has arrested 66 Indian fishermen for allegedly violating Pakistan's territorial waters in the Arabian Sea on Monday.
The Indian fishermen were apprehended by MSA after they strayed into Pakistani waters in the Arabian Sea. They were later handed over to the Docks police station.
"They were caught by the forces in the sea and were later handed over to us," said City SSP Fida Hussain Janwari while talking to The Express Tribune. "After registering cases against them, the suspects were handed over to the investigation police for further legal action."
Nearly 11 boats belonging to the fishermen were also captured. Docks police official Muhammad Anwar said that the Indian fishermen were handed over to the police on Monday, adding that a case against them has been registered under the Fisheries Act. They will be produced before a court today (Tuesday).
