The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has decided to pay advance salaries and annual incentives to its Christian workers on the eve of Christmas.
According to an LWMC spokesman, the company employs more than 6,000 Christians. “We have planned things to greet them on Christmas,” he said.
He said the company had decided to give an award to the employee of the year and for best cleanliness arrangements in and around Christian localities, worship places and recreational public points. The spokesman said cake-cutting ceremonies would be arranged at LWMC’s zonal offices. A central ceremony would be held at Town Hall on December 23, he said. The spokesman said Christian workers would also get a bonus salary. On December 25 and 26, Christian workers and their families would be offered discounts on recreational facilities at Racecourse and Gulshan-i-Iqbal Parks.
