Sindh Games budget still not finalised
KARACHI:
The Sindh Olympic Association (SOA) president and Sindh Sports Minister Dr Mohammad Ali Shah held a meeting to finalise committees for the Sindh Games due to launch on 1.
Six committees for overseeing security, accommodation, transport, media, publication and reception will be finalised by Monday. An official has also revealed that the Rs 15million budget that Dr Shah had proposed to the Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah is still not approved. “Right now I’m not sure about the budget,” Sindh Sports Board consultant Razik Hussain Rabbani told The Express Tribune. “Last year, the association got a similar amount but ended up spending more on the games, but this time we’re holding it in Karachi.
We hope it would not cost the association as much as it had cost us last time.” The issue of athletes’ insurance during the games was not discussed in the meeting either.
