Three suspected militants killed in North Waziristan IED blast
The incident led to a crossfire, killing three suspected militants
At least three suspected militants were killed on Saturday, and one security personnel injured when a convoy of security officials was targeted by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in North Waziristan's Tehsil Tarayza, Express News reported.
According to a security official, the IED, planted by unidentified militants, exploded with the help of a remote control when security officials were on a routine patrol of the area.

Following the attacks, a crossfire commenced between security forces and suspected militants, killing three of the suspects.
Further, security forces cordoned off the area and began a search operation.
As per the ongoing operations Zarb-e-Azb and Khyber-I search operations are carried out frequently in attempts to eradicate terrorism from the country.
On April 30, the military claimed a ‘huge success’ after ‘intense fighting’ that left 27 terrorists dead.

The Khyber-II operation was launched in mid-October last year following reports that some militants had fled the ongoing military offensive in North Waziristan Agency to seek shelter in the strategic Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency.
