Balochistan law and order: Security forces kill three ‘militants’ in Awaran
Detain two alleged facilitators of a banned group
QUETTA:
Security forces killed three suspected militants following a gun battle in Awaran on Friday and arrested two more suspects from Dera Bugti, security sources said.
According to them, security forces were conducting a search operation in the Mashkay area of Awaran when they came under fire. “The militants opened fire on security personnel conducting the search operation. The troops returned fire, killing three of them,” a security official said.
The forces handed over the bodies of the deceased to Levies officials who returned them to their heirs. The slain militants are said to hail from the Nokjo area of Mashkay.
Meanwhile, the Frontier Corps in Balochistan arrested two individuals suspected of being associated with a banned group following a raid in Dera Bugti. “FC troops conducting a search operation in the Nabi Killi area of Dera Bugti arrested two suspected facilitators of an outlawed organisation,” the FC spokesman said. “They have been moved to an unknown location for interrogation.”
Carjackers kill two brothers in Pishin
Two brothers were killed in a scuffle with two carjackers on the outskirts of Pishin on Friday, Levies officials said.
According to them, the brothers – Dawood Agha and Wali Agha – were travelling from Pishin when they were intercepted near the Saranan area by the car thieves. “Dawood and Wali resisted and were gunned down by the two snatchers,” a Levies official said.
The Levies were able to nab the carjackers later when they were trying to flee the area, the official said. The vehicle is currently in Levies custody.
Meanwhile, bike-snatchers shot and injured a man in Chaman while attempting to steal his motorcycle, officials said.
