In remembrance: 6th anniversary of Timergara blast commemorated
12 people, including two children, were killed while nearly 28 others were injured in the suicide blast in 2009

Residents of Timergara commemorated the sixth anniversary of a suicide blast that took place near a mosque is Khurshid Police Lines in Timergara, Lower Dir on December 18, 2009. “Peace can be restored in Lower Dir if locals and security forces work together against violent elements,” said a participant to a peace rally held on Friday. The rally was held under the leadership of district nazim Haji Muhammad Rasool Khan. On the other hand, personnel paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the blast. On the occasion, members of civil society and the district administration were also in attendance. While addressing the rally, the district nazim said, “The sacrifice on the martyrs will not be forgotten.” At least 12 people, including two children, were killed while nearly 28 others were injured in the suicide blast in 2009.
