New head office: NAB chief for speedy work on project

Asks officials not to compromise on quality of material

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry on Thursday directed the relevant departments to expedite work on the under-construction building of the anti-corruption new body’s headquarters.

He issued these directives during his visit to the site of the building to review the progress and the quality of construction work.

Chaudhry directed officials of NAB and PWD, the consultant and the contractor to complete the remaining work as per schedule.

He said that efforts should be made to complete the internal and external electrification work, procurement of lifts, public health work, construction of boundary wall etc as per schedule, ensuring all quality standards as per rules.

He said that there will be no compromise on the quality of material, construction work and all formalities in tendering and award of remaining construction work etc should be completed transparent according to government rules/policy.

During a briefing to the chairman, the relevant departments informed that the structure of the building has been completed.

Installation of glass and fixtures of artificial granite, underground water interception system, aluminum foil around the basement, and electrification work is under progress.
