Students sing national songs and presented tableaux to commemorate Peshawar tragedy

BAHAWALPUR/ MULTAN: Facilitation cards have been issued to families of civilian and military personnel who died in terrorism incidents, on directives of DCO Zahid Saleem Gondal. The DCO said the families would be given priority in redress of grievances at private and public offices. “We want to provide the families of our martyrs with every possible facility.”Gondal said the distribution of facilitation cards should be seen as tribute to those who had laid their lives in the line of duty for their motherland. “They are our heroes.” The DCO distributed cards to families of 30 policemen and army men who died in terror-related incidents.

In Bahawalpur, Desert Rangers Commandant Brig Arshad Mehmood said the Peshawar tragedy had infused courage in the nation and a resolve to defeat terrorism at any cost.

He said the blood spilt at Army Public School, Peshawar, last year would not go to waste. “We will take up the mantle and educate even more children so that our country has a bright future.”

Mehmood was addressing a prayer reference for the children who died in the APS attack at the Bahawalpur Rangers Public School.

He said Operation Zarb-i-Azb was in the final stages. “We are committed to eliminating terrorism from its very roots.” He said the tragic incident had brought the nation together in grief.

Student of the Rangers Public School sang national songs and presented tableaux commemorating the tragedy.

Commandant Colonel Aftab Rameez, Major Nauman Maqbool and students and faculty were present at the event.
