Tottenham receive planning permission for new stadium

The stadium will cost 400 million pounds and will be constructed adjacent to the present White Hart Lane location

Haringey Council has granted Tottenham Hotspur planning permission for the club's revised proposal for a new stadium.

Spurs plan to move into the new 61,000-seater stadium, which will also host U.S. National Football League (NFL) games, in time for the 2018-19 season.

The stadium will cost 400 million pounds ($598 million) and be constructed adjacent to the present White Hart Lane location.



"We can announce that Haringey Council's Planning Sub Committee has approved the Club's new stadium proposals," Tottenham said on their official Twitter account.

Tottenham's new stadium will be the largest club ground in London, eclipsing Arsenal's Emirates Stadium, which can seat 60,432 and Chelsea's proposed redevelopment of Stamford Bridge into a new 60,000-seater arena.
