Tajikistan wants to operate flights to Islamabad and Lahore including fifth freedom rights as part of Bilateral Air Service Agreement (ASA) with Pakistan. Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Director General Air Marshal (retd) Asim Suleiman held a meeting with Civil Aviation Tajikistan Head of Department Muhammad Yusuf Azimovich. The two sides have signed minutes of meeting for now. “Tajikistan delegation informed that they wish to start direct flights from Dushanbe to Lahore and Islamabad and also requested fifth freedom traffic rights,” a CAA statement said. Both sides agreed to meet again for signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by January 2016 in Dushanbe after completing necessary formalities. From Pakistani side Secretary Aviation Muhammad Irfan Elahi, CAA Director General CAA Suleiman and Director Air Transport Khawar Ghayas participated in discussions.
