KARACHI:
The protest by Pakistan International Airline’s (PIA) joint action committee against the privatisation of the airline entered its 10th day on Wednesday. The employees boycotted work from 10am till 1pm. “We will organise a rally on Friday from the head office to Jinnah Terminal but we will avoid the sensitive locations of the terminal and will only hold a peaceful protest,” said Nasrullah Khan Afridi, the head of Pakistan Airlines Cabin Crew Association. The protest by the joint action committee is gaining strength day by day as it started right after an ordinance was promulgated by President Mamnoon Hussain on December 5 regarding the privatisation of the national airline, PIA.
