Search operation: 37 arrested in crackdown

Around 37 suspects were arrested on Saturday during search operations in various areas of the capital.

ISLAMABAD:
Around 37 suspects were arrested on Saturday during search operations in various areas of the capital. Teams of police conducted a crackdown in various localities which included houses, workshops, parking areas, markets, under construction buildings and residential areas.

The search operation was launched from slum areas, hotels, restaurants and places where Afghan nationals were residing including the precincts of Sihala, Golra,  Tarnol,  Industrial area, Shalimar and Margalla police stations.


Bomb Disposal Squad, police commandos and lady police personnel also participated in the operation, which was assisted by sniffer dogs wherever it was required.

Among the arrested suspects, Industrial Area police managed to nab Nazar Hussain who portrayed himself as an official of Punjab police. On investigations, he failed to prove his claim. Secretariat police arrested an accused Raja Kamran and recovered 30-bore pistols along with two rounds from him, while Bhara Kahu police arrested one accused in possession of liquor bottles.
