ISLAMABAD:

A trial court on Monday allowed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to keep in its custody three suspects involved in the Dr Imran Farooq murder case for an additional 14 days.

The three suspects, Moazzam Ali Khan, Khalid Shamim and Mohsin Ali, were presented amid heavy security before Anti-Terrorism Court-I (ATC) Judge Kausar Abbas Zaidi after their seven-day remand expired. Earlier on Monday, when the FIA had requested the court to extend the remand of the suspects, Judge Zaidi asked the agency to present the three suspects.

FIA argued that presenting the suspects in court was a security risk but the judge rejected their contentions, insisting that the men need to be presented before the court for their remand to be extended.
