Expansion: UET’s Jalozai Campus worth Rs6.65b inaugurated
The project was completed at a cost of Rs6.65 billion

Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan and Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Monday inaugurated the Jalozai Campus of University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Peshawar.
The project was completed at a cost of Rs6.65 billion. They also inaugurated Jinnah Hostel and Iqbal Hostel for students and staff. Provincial ministers, parliamentarians and high ranking government officials were present on the occasion.
While addressing participants during the inaugural ceremony held at the new campus situated at Pabbi-Cherat Road in Nowshera, the governor said, “I am impressed by the architectural aesthetics of the campus building.”
He suggested, “The Higher Education Commission and the provincial government should utilise this campus to develop a technology park in future which will not only help the youth to gain technological skills under one roof but would also bring more development in the area.”
Khattak said, “I am happy to see such a facility being established in my native town. This campus would prove to be a game changer and I can see further development in the area in future.”
He congratulated UET Vice Chancellor (VC) Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani for his efforts in completing the first phase of the campus in time. He hoped Jalozai Campus would prove to be one of the best engineering education facilities in the country.
Khattak also announced to regularise 15 contractual employees of the campus. He appreciated the efforts of UET VC and his staff for starting classes in four different disciplines.
Project highlights
Sharing views on the mega project, the VC said, “Jalozai Campus is offering courses to around 200 students in disciplines of electrical, mechanical, civil and industrial engineering.”
Gilani added, “UET is one of the premier universities of the country in the field of engineering.” The VC pointed out the university provides quality education in the field of engineering to over 7,000 students at six campuses.
