Strike: Lawyers demand LHC bench in Faisalabad
Previously, they had held token strikes on Friday and Saturday for several weeks

Hailing lawyers’ demand for a bench of the Lahore High Court in Faisalabad, District Bar Association president Ayub Sialvi said this was a right of the people of Faisalabad. “We will expand the scope of our agitation for three days each week.” The lawyers boycotted proceedings on Monday. Previously, they had held token strikes on Friday and Saturday for several weeks. Sialvi said the District Bar Association had launched a protest movement under which lawyers would observe complete strike on Friday, Saturday and Monday and stay away from courts after 12pm (noon) on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. He said the government had promised to establish a division bench of the LHC at Faisalabad but had not delivered on the promise.
