Rangers powers: PTI to hold anti-Sindh govt protest
The operation should continue until the last criminal is apprehended
KARACHI:
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced to launch a protest movement against the Sindh government for not extending policing powers to Rangers. At a press conference, PTI’s deputy general-secretary Imran Ismail said that the provincial government was bent on spoiling the peace restored in the city during the paramilitary-led operation. The operation should continue until the last criminal is apprehended, he said. “Pakistan Peoples Party is playing with people’s lives and it has made a mockery of the policing powers issue. Whatever the [provincial] government is doing is dangerous,” Ismail told The Express Tribune. He said that after raising the issue in the assembly, the party would take to the streets if it is not resolved.
