Unscheduled load shedding of electricity and gas across the country has brought life to a standstill. Residents of South Punjab have been worst affected.

DG Khan, Bahawalpur, Vehari, Khanewal, Haroonabad and Kabir Wala are the worst affected areas due to suspension of electricity and gas. The duration of power outages in these cities is exceeding 10 to 12 hours.

Gas outages continue to cause difficulties for industrial consumers of Faisalabad as load shedding continues for the second day today.

Sui Northern Gas Company has suspended gas supply to industrial units and CNG filling stations for four days.

The move has rendered hundreds of thousands of daily wagers and laborers jobless. Over in Sindh, Karachi is still gripped by a power crisis with outages spanning for at least four to five hours.
