“The party will soon start a membership campaign,” he told a gathering, attended by provincial deputy organiser Omer Sarfraz Cheema, Abdul Aleem Khan and Saloni Bukhari.
Sarwar said the drive would help bring more people into the party. He said the PTI would grow stronger as a result. “The PTI will emerge as people’s true representative,” he said. Sarwar lashed out at the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and the Pakistan Peoples Party saying that the two parties had similar political ideologies. “The PML-N and the PPP are two sides of the same coin. Their policies do not favour the people.”
He said the PPP had already suffered defeat. “The PMLN will meet the same fate during the next general elections,” Sarwar said. The people had rejected the PPP in the 2013 general elections on account of corruption. He criticised the government for raising LPG prices. “Such policies further burden the people already suffering because of high prices,” the PTI leader said. He said corruption was rampant under the current setup.
