Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday directed the National Testing Service (NTS) to refund Rs15 million to law graduates. Justice Mansoor Ali Shah ordered the NTS regional manager to reimburse the aforementioned amount to 35,000 candidates who had deposited a sum of Rs3,000 each to appear for Law-GAT exams last year. Advocate Farhad Ali Shah, the petitioner, said the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) had made it mandatory for fresh law graduates to pass a Law-GAT exam to be eligible. He said 35,000 candidates had deposited the fee but LHC had separately stayed the exams. Shah said the PBC had conducted the exams itself. He said the case was still pending before the court. Shah said despite several attempts, the NTS had failed to reimburse the deposited fees.
