MUMBAI:
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan said he accepts with humility the Bombay High Court verdict which acquitted him of all charges in the infamous 2002 hit-and-run case. “I accept the decision of the judiciary with humility. I thank my family, friends and fans for their support and prayers,” tweeted Salman.

Delivering the much-awaited verdict, Justice A R Joshi said the actor  “cannot be convicted” on the basis of the evidence produced by the prosecution in the 13-year-old case and trial. Most of his family members, including father Salim Khan, accompanied Salman to the court.

Bollywood actor Raveena Tandon expressed extreme happiness over the decision. “It’s a joyous day for him and his family. He has come out of this case very well. I wish him all the best... it is fantastic,” she said.

Furthermore, actor Zarine Khan who made her Bollywood debut alongside Salman in the 2010 film Veer, shared, “I am very happy for Salman. Finally after so many years, he has got the freedom. This is the best gift Salman has got for his 50th birthday. What more he could ask for?”
