Advancing Techniques: ‘More burn centres should be built’

Dr Tariq said that including synthetic skin and biological dressings, advanced materials were being used in the centre

ISLAMABAD:
The head of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Burn Care Centre (BCC), Dr Mian Tariq Iqbal said the PIMS burn centre was using advanced techniques that were being practiced in best centres of developed countries to manage acute burns. Dr Tariq said that including synthetic skin and biological dressings, advanced materials were being used in the centre. He said that BCC was managing more than 6,000 acute burn patients annually for the last seven years. He said BCC was one of the best centre with provision of international standard quality care in the country, reflected from the above mentioned data regarding all acute burns which were reported from ICT.
