Indo-Pak relations: Maryam for closer people-to-people ties
Swaraj recalled that her parents lived in Lahore before migrating to India at the time of partition

Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday called on PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz in Islamabad. According to a press release, Maryam Nawaz warmly welcomed the Indian minister and both held talks on matters of mutual interest. Swaraj recalled that her parents lived in Lahore before migrating to India at the time of partition. She said that she had visited her parents’ home in Lahore during her past visit to Pakistan. Maryam Nawaz said that people of both the countries want closer ties. She expressed hope that the visit of Indian external affairs minister will lead to improvement of ties and help in resolving issues.
