A little help: Cheques given to quake victims
At least 59 people who lost their homes were awarded Rs0.2 million

The government distributed cheques worth Rs27.7 million among earthquake victims in Kurram Agency. An event was held at Jirga Hall. Addressing the audience, Kurram Agency Political Agent Amjad Ali Khan said the aid was meagre compared to the troubles faced by people, but it was the government’s way of showing it stood by the victims. At least 59 people who lost their homes were awarded Rs0.2 million, while 152 people with damaged houses were given Rs0.1 million. Recently, relatives of a woman who was killed in the quake were given Rs0.6 million and one injured woman was awarded Rs0.1 million.
