Ajk Hospital: Woman abandons baby, flees

MUZAFFARABAD: A woman on Tuesday handed over a six-day-old baby girl to an old woman at a hospital in Rawalakot and fled. Police said a young woman escaped from Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan Hospital after handing her baby girl to an old woman. She told the older woman that she was going to the medical store for two minutes but did not return. The old woman waited for her for four hours, after which the hospital administration informed the police. Many people approached the police station to adopt the baby. The police, however, have handed over the baby to the hospital’s administration for the time being.
