KARACHI: The hearing of two identical petitions filed by candidates for Sindh civil judges posts was adjourned indefinitely on Friday after Sindh High Court chief justice declined to hear them, as he was also the head of the selection committee.

The petition was filed by Darakhshan, Ghulam Nabi Memon and 14 other candidates who alleged that less time was allotted to them to solve the written exam. The other irregularities were also alleged by them including questions on topics not listed in the syllabus.

They prayed to the court to order another written exam giving every candidate an equal opportunity.

When the petitions came up for hearing, chief justice declining the hearing, ordered that petitions be placed before any other bench of the SHC.

The Sindh Bar Council also has reservations about the said exam and has demanded the removal of the SHC official who supervised the exam.
