Cruel in-laws brought to justice
Court issues order to have 7-year-old kidnapped by her uncles and grandfather to be returned to her parents.
SUKKUR:
The Sindh High Court (SHC) issued an order to have the seven-year-old girl, Sherbano, who had been allegedly kidnapped by her uncles and grandfather, returned to her parents.
The girl’s parents escaped their village of Salehpat after her mother, Nandhni, was tied to a tree by her grandfather and uncles. The men also set dogs on her over allegations of karo-kari. The day before the attack they had persuaded the couple to let them take their daughter for a two-day family visit.
Sabbir, the husband, said that he went to the police, who arrested Sabbir’s father, Ghaman, and step-brothers Ali Madad, Meer Hassan and Ali Ganj, but then released them after they paid the police Rs15,000.
The couple then went to the SHC, Sukkur bench, to appeal for help.
