Bux wants Pakistan boxers to train abroad
Pugilists to feature in upcoming South Asian Games and Olympic qualifiers
KARACHI:
Pakistan’s boxing head coach Ali Bux believes the country’s pugilists need to train abroad if they hope to have any shot of winning medals in the South Asian Games in February and in the 2016 Rio Olympic qualifiers in March.
Bux is hardly confident about Pakistan’s chances in the two major events scheduled to take place in the beginning of the next year.
According to the coach, the preparations so far are not up to the mark despite shortlisting 32 players for the camp after the National Championships, which took place last month.

“We need to send our players abroad,” Bux told The Express Tribune. “We need to be fully prepared for the Olympic qualifiers in China, and for that we need quality training.”
He added that even countries like Mongolia are sending their players abroad for training.
