Polling problems: ECP de-notifies Sanghar DRO
The election schedule to hold the polls in the district
KARACHI:
Talking notice of serious reservations expressed by opposition parties, the election commission on Thursday de-notified the district returning officer (DRO) of Sanghar, Umar Farooq Bullo. According to a notification, the regional election commissioner Zhob, Abdul Qayyom Shinwari, has replaced Bullo. The election schedule to hold the polls in the district, which has already been declared the most sensitive district of the province, has not yet been issued. A group of opposition parties had held meetings with the provincial election commissioner and chief election commissioner of Pakistan, lodging complaints against the DRO for shifting the polling stations to PPP-dominated areas and favouring the ruling party candidates.
