HYDERABAD: The Sindh High Court ordered on Thursday the police to produce in court a suspect involved in the Safoora Goth incident. The suspect was allegedly subjected to enforced disappearance three months ago. The petitioner, Tabassum Qureshi, claimed that her husband, Muhammad Mehmood Qureshi, ran a clothes shop in Latifabad Unit 8. The petitioner claimed that Rangers personnel had whisked him away on September 5. The Hyderabad police maintained that Qureshi may have gone into hiding to prevent his arrest. According to the police, Muhammad was also involved in the killing of sub-inspector Ishtiaq Aiwan, who was shot dead outside his residence on September 21. Aiwan was a witness against one of the prime suspects of the Safoora killings, Tahir Hussain Minhas. The SHC ordered the police to produce Muhammad on December 22.
