ISLAMABAD:
Islamabad Police Inspector General Tahir Alam Khan directed officials to allocate two hours at respective police stations on a daily basis to attend to public complaints.
The police chief said that each official would mention the hours of his availability on a notice board at each station, said a press release issued on Wednesday.
The top cop suggested that officers of the rank of deputy superintendent of police should ideally be available from 12pm to 2pm in their offices and station house officers from 4pm to 6pm to entertain public complaints.
“In case of any other engagement, these timings may be changed and altered accordingly,” Khan said.
He also directed SSP (Operations) Sajid Kiani to observe and monitor the new directives to ensure compliance.
The inspector general of the police said that all officials and officers should strictly observe the timings by making themselves available to the public.
The locals have been urging greater level of police engagement with the public for sometime now.
